Dickson Lewis are looking for an experienced accounts assistant to work predominantly on the purchase ledger for their client based in central Edinburgh.

Do you have previous ledger experience, good IT knowledge and excellent communication skills?

The role

Process large volume purchase invoices 

Maintain and control purchase and sales ledger accurately and efficiently. 

Respond to queries on the telephone and by email building customer rapport 

Record bank transactions / reconciliation's and arrange BACS payments. 

Deliver high quality services, within set time-scales.

Report in a timely and accurate manner to queries.

Communicate effectively with other departments 

Keep Manager/Supervisor informed of progress and any issues arising.

Communicate and deal with clients and colleagues professionally and courteously.

You will have: 

Sage 50 accounts knowledge 

Purchase ledger invoice processing experience 

Bank processing and reconciliation experience 

Microsoft Office software especially Excel, Word and Outlook.

Good attention to detail and able to work quickly and accurately to tight time-scales.

Happy to deal with large amount of transactional processing.

Experience of Xero or other accounting packages would be beneficial.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
