Dickson Lewis are looking for an experienced Tax manager to join a developing team to provide a high quality tax compliance and advisory service to clients.

The portfolio consists of high net worth individuals, landed estates, unincorporated businesses including partnerships and family trusts.

A CTA qualification would be an advantage although the position is open to someone who is ATT qualified with a strong track record. There may be opportunities for support with further qualifications.

The main duties of the role include:

Responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients

Monitoring budgets and discussing issues with senior staff

Liaising with colleagues across the firm to provide a co-ordinated service to clients

Supervising and assisting junior members

Coaching and developing junior members of staff

Keeping internal control records up to date and ensuring compliance with quality control procedures

Undertaking advisory work and assisting senior members of the team with ad hoc technical matters

Preparing fees and budgets/proposals for potential new clients and discussing with senior members of the team

Ensuring client acceptance and anti – money laundering procedures are undertaken and preparing engagement letters

Participating with senior members of the team in business development activities

Requirements

Good knowledge of income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, national insurance contributions, trust and partnership taxation

Experience in reviewing personal tax returns

Increasing involvement in tax planning projects

 Excellent written and oral communication skills

Willingness to take responsibility and suggest solutions to problems encountered

Ability to work as part of a team

Motivated and committed to continuously developing technical, commercial and client relationship skills

Effective time management skills and ability to efficiently organise workload to deliver on budget

Willingness to maintain and develop technical knowledge through internal and external training and reading of technical books/journals

Ability to remain calm when under pressure and willingness to work overtime to meet deadlines

Good IT skills

Knowledge of CCH Personal Tax would be helpful but not essential
